Practical Farmers of Iowa is looking for beginning farmers to take part in their Savings Incentive Program. The program can provide assistance with financing, mentorships, and education. The organization sent out the following notice.
Practical Farmers of Iowa is recruiting applications to the fourth group of
beginning farmers for the Savings Incentive Program. The program combines
work with an experienced farm mentor, business plan support, a farm savings
account and savings match money (up to $2400), integration into the
Practical Farmers network, and quarterly staff support for two years.
Anyone operating a farm for 5 years or less or those not far from starting
a farm business are encouraged to apply. Applicants need to live or farm in
Iowa and be members of Practical Farmers of Iowa.
